I finally decided to pull the trigger and build my new website. But why? What do I want it to be? What am I looking for?
I need a place on the web where people can find me, preferably through my own domain. It has to be "custom made" because I want full "creative control" (whatever that means). But most importantly, my website has to be 100% mine, I have to own it. This means that changing "hosting/server/cloud" provider should be easy. If I move, my data and content moves with me.
Yes, that's what I want it to be: just a good ol'trusty static website.
